Emerson announced it has earned a score of 100% on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2022 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) and the designation as one of the Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality.
CEI is the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey and report on LGBTQ+ workplace equality, measuring corporate policies and benefits practices. Emerson is a part of a broad coalition of hundreds of leading companies that earned top marks in 2022.
“We’re proud to be recognized once again by the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index for our commitment to equality and workplace inclusion,” said Akberet Boykin Farr, Emerson’s VP of diversity and social responsibility. “At Emerson, we are committed to a culture where our LGBTQ+ employees around the world know they are valued and respected for their experiences and perspectives at work and beyond.”
One of the ways Emerson meets this commitment is through its LGBTQ + Allies Employee Resource Group. Local chapters host educational sessions and participate in community events on behalf of the company. In 2021, the group was recognized by Out & Equal as a finalist for its “New Employee Resource Group of Year Outie Award.” In less than two years, Emerson’s LGBTQ + Allies Employee Resource Group has grown by 12 chapters and built a member base of more than 800 employees across 35 countries.
