Five Honored with Printed Electronics USA 2015 Awards
At the Printed Electronics USA 2015 conference, five companies and universities were awarded for their achievements.
Francois Barreau, Armor SAS – Best Product Development Award
ARMOR SAS won this award for development of Orion, a new solar lamp concept. The OPV module is fully integrated within the core of the lamp, and can be unrolled easily for charging the battery and rolled up manually within the lamp.
Len Allison, Engineered Materials Systems, Inc., Division of Nagase & Company – Best Commercialization Award
Engineered Materials Systems developed stretchable conductive ink for MIMO Baby, a successful commercial product made by Rest Devices.
David Parker, Vitriflex – Best Technical Development Manufacturing Award
Vitriflex has invented and demonstrated a novel barrier film applicable to flexible OLED display, quantum dot films, OLED lighting and flexible solar PV.
Jason Dunn, Parker Hannifin – Best Technical Development Materials Award
Parker Hannifin develops and produce sensors utilizing electro active polymer (EAP) technology. They needed a stretchable conductive ink, and developed their own stretchable ink formulation in house.
Prof. Craig Armiento, University of Massachusetts Lowell Raytheon – Academic R&D Award
The University of Massachusetts Lowell Raytheon developed a ferroelectric ink for direct printing of high-frequency voltage variable dielectrics on flexible substrates for tunable RF and microwave applications.
