Printed and flexible electronics (PE) are quickly becoming more viable, and end users are seeing opportunities for using these systems. Printed Electronics Europe 2016, organized by IDTechEx and running April 27-28 at the Estrel Berlin Hotel and Convention Center in Berlin, will bring together major international brand owners and key supply chain members to discuss where the technology can benefit consumers and manufacturers alike.

IDTechEx Show! Cornerstones will open the conference with a talk by IDTechEx CEO Raghu Das. Marek Ramski, assistant manager, OLED Light Europe Division, LG Display, will cover “Highlights Of OLED Lighting From LG Display: OLED Lighting For Integration, Wearables And 3D Printing.” Girish Wable, Jabil technology project manager, will discuss “Bringing Emerging Technologies To Market: Progress From Jabil, One Of The Worlds’ Largest Manufacturing Services Companies.”
Dr. Terry Hendricks, MMRTG Pyroshock project manager for NASA – Jet Propulsion Laboratory, will follow with “A Universe of Energy.” Pauline van Dongen of Pauline van Dongen of Pauline van Dongen Fashion, will close the Cornerstones with “An Embodied Interface.”
Printed Electronics Keynotes will feature Das and an End User Insight Panel led by Stephane Egret, R&D packaging innovator Coca-Cola; Ashutosh Tomar, principal engineer (research), Jaguar Land Rover; Eric Calle, head of innovation R&D, JCDecaux. Andreas Meyer, process manager, Ravensburger Spieleverlag GmbH, and Eric Calle, head of innovation R&D, JCDecaux, will close the Printed Electronics Europe keynote talks.
After the printed electonics keynotes, the Printed Electronics Europe portion breaks up into two concurrent sessions. The first session opens with a segment on New Printed Electronics Products, featuring Dr. Cristina Bertoni, project leader, Electrolux Italia S.p.A. Global Technology Centre; Dr. Torbjörn Eriksson, VP program & facilities management, Thin Film Electronics AB; Matthew Ream, VP marketing, Blue Spark Technologies; and Mark Litecky marketing manager, Molex.
The second session covers Scaling Up Manufacturing, and features three speakers: Nicolas Bernardin, deputy managing director for CERADROP; Stan Farnsworth, VP of NovaCentrix; and Dr. Wim Christiaens, Quad Industries nv/sa R&D director.

The Wearable Technology in Healthcare keynote will then be delivered by Heidi Dohse, Google’s senior program manger and founder of Tour de Heart. The session on Wearable Technology in Healthcare will feature talks by Dr. Luis Garcia-Gancedo, GSK’s senior scientific investigator, as well as a panel discussion titled The Hyper-Connected Individual, Household & City Meets The Healthcare Sector: The IOT Opportunity, with presenters from Vodafone, Qualcomm and HealthCare Futurists.
The panel will be followed by presentations by Yury Rozenman, director of business development for Qualcomm Life; Prof. Adrian Ionescu, co-founder of Xsensio; and Eccrine Systems CTO Dr. Gavi Begtrup.
