The Society for Information Display (SID) announced that registration is now open for Display Week 2024, the world’s largest technical event for emerging technologies in the fast-growing global electronic display and imaging industry.
Known for its impressive exhibition and international symposium, Display Week attracts a global audience of more than 7,000 top scientists, engineers, corporate researchers and business leaders in the display industry from over 50 countries, including Japan, China, Korea and Germany.
The annual event will take place May 12-17 at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center in California.
Nearly every major industry sector is represented on-site, including aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics, commercial, education, entertainment, finance, government, industrial, marine, medical, military, retail and transportation.
For more than six decades, Display Week has brought emerging technologies propelling these segments to the forefront, providing a continual platform for industry innovation and discovery. Participants attend each year to learn, source new technology and network, at the highly influential event.
“As we return to Silicon Valley — and with the industry reaching more than $120 billion in value — interest in digital display technologies is at an all-time high,” said SID president Dr. Achin Bhowmik. “Based on the record number of papers we’ve received from experts who want to share their insights on the latest advances, I anticipate a very strong turnout and critical information sharing that will be key to success as we move into the next era of this business.”
Bringing Display Week back to San Jose, where it has traditionally welcomed its strongest international participation, is an opportunity for the event to expand its reach. Nearly 40% of the event’s 200 exhibitors were new to the show in 2023, with even more expected to sign on in 2024.
Leading companies from around the world and every area of display and visual information technology will unveil breakthrough developments and advances in AR/VR, OLED, MicroLED, MiniLED, LCD, quantum dots, automobile technology, wearables, digital signage and more. BOE, Corning, LG, Samsung, TCL, Tianma and 3M are just some of the exhibitors slated to exhibit in May.
“The rapid evolution of electronic displays and imaging technologies is transforming vision into reality at an unprecedented pace,” said Bhowmik. “Display Week stands as our industry’s global hub, where we can step into the future with scientists and business leaders to see the world’s cutting-edge innovations converge, understand how to use them wisely and efficiently, and prepare for the possibilities and potential on the near horizon.”
The five-day Technical Symposium will feature live presentations and hundreds of industry papers from top scientists, researchers and members of the global academic community.
Attendees can also look forward to several opportunities to connect with colleagues and raise their profile in the field through specialized conferences, events and experiences — including the CEO Forum; Women in Tech; MicroLED Forum; the Young Leadership Conference, designed to support those just starting out in the industry; I-Zone, spotlighting new exhibitors and emerging innovations; Display Industry Awards; and People’s Choice Awards.
