OLEDWorks announced its sponsorship of a custom OLED luminaire installation in the new welcome atrium at The Strong National Museum of Play. In collaboration with The Strong, Acuity Brands, Point Source Group, and the Fox family, the luminaire will feature 144 OLED butterflies and will serve as a memorial for Richard C. Fox, a champion of OLED lighting technology and children’s education.
“Richard Fox was a staunch advocate for the city of Rochester and a devoted supporter of OLED lighting technology and OLEDWorks,” said David DeJoy, OLEDWorks CEO. “We are truly honored to contribute to the memorial of this remarkable champion who not only embraced our technology but also left an indelible mark on our beloved city and community. It is with great pride that we support the new atrium at The Strong National Museum of Play, an esteemed local and national treasure, where our innovative technology will undoubtedly foster inspiration, play, learning and innovation for generations to come.”
Each year, nearly one million people will walk beneath this playful canopy of OLED butterfly lights as they enter the all-new welcome atrium, part of The Strong’s 90,000 square foot expansion opening June 30, 2023.
