Jabil Inc. announced the expansion of its healthcare manufacturing operations outside the Dominican Republic capital city of Santo Domingo.
The new facility features more than 60,000 square feet of manufacturing space in Bajos de Haina’s PIISA Industrial Park, part of the area’s fast-growing free trade zone.
Construction on the site began in 2019 and now includes a 36,000-foot clean/dry room, operated by a trained workforce of more than 140 associates. The expansion is expected to generate more than 500 new job opportunities in the upcoming quarter.
Jabil’s Dominican Republic operations support Jabil Healthcare, a division of Jabil, providing expertise in manufacturing and supply chain solutions, combined with exceptional engineering and design capabilities to develop product solutions across a broad range of medical devices.
“Jabil works alongside diverse, multinational companies, including an impressive concentration of globally recognized healthcare brands,” said Luis Diaz, senior operations director, Jabil. “Our expansion in the Dominican Republic provides an opportunity for local talent to join our team and be part of the largest global healthcare manufacturing solutions provider.”
