Zebra Technologies announced that Dutch supermarket retailer Jumbo selected Zebra’s PS20 personal shopping solution (PSS) to deliver new in-store navigation and assistance applications for a personalized shopper experience.
They are the first Dutch retailer to offer this innovation to their customers and have plans to expand this solution to other Dutch and Belgian stores.
“Zebra’s self-scanning PS20 solution offers the high-performing functionality we need,” said Michiel Kienjet, programme manager, Formule & Format, Jumbo. “Shoppers enjoy using the new personal shopping assistant, especially how easily they can access information on the large dedicated screen. We’ve seen exceptionally high use of PSS at Jumbo – in some stores, self-scanning already accounts for 70% of sales, and this figure will only increase.”
The PS20’s integrated front-facing camera combined with Phillips LED in-store lighting will be utilized for a new locating and navigation application. This will help guide shoppers around the store using an on-screen map. Jumbo is also introducing self-scanning customer assistance to access their advisory service; shoppers will need to activate the device’s microphone via Push to Talk.
