PPG announced that it will showcase its complete range of advanced conductive and transparent functional coatings for display glass and plastic substrates at the Society for Information Display (SID) Display Week 2019. The event will be held at the San Jose Convention Center in California, May 14-16.
Among the recently introduced products, PPG will display is an anti-fingerprint (AFP) coating based on proprietary PPG technology. The coating features an exclusive silk-touch feel that makes touchscreens on smartphones, vehicle displays and other shared devices more pleasantly tactile. It combines water-repelling and water-absorbing properties to enable greater adhesion and low water- and oil-contact angles, enhancing display-screen durability and fingerprint hiding.
PPG also will highlight:
- Printable conductive, resistive and insulating inks for printed electronic applications, such as bus bars, antennas, capacitive touch controls and positive coefficient temperature (PCT) heating;
- Innovative patterning paste technology for improved manufacturing and integration of silver nanowire coatings in flexible displays and touch screens;
- Conductive coatings for electromagnetic interference (EMI), radio-frequency interference (RFI), electrostatic discharge (ESD) and lightning strike protection;
- Spray-enabled transparent functional coatings, including easy-to-clean (EC), anti-glare (AG), AFP, anti-fingermark (AFM), anti-reflective (AR) and ultraviolet-durable hydrophobic (UVH) coatings for glass, plastic and metal substrates.
