Organic solar cells have long been seen as a potential alternative to the standard silicon cells that currently dominate the markets. Organic solar cells display unique advantages such as being thin, flexible and environmentally friendly. Until now the commercialization of the technology has progressed slowly, but steady improvements in efficiency, lifetime, and production have ensured that full scale commercialization is within reach.
“Organic solar cell technology has come a long way and now we are able to confidently produce solar cells with high efficiency and good lifetime in near endless quantities,” said an infinityPV spokesperson.
