Cambridge Touch Technologies has recruited Babak Bastani as VP of product. Bastani, who joins CTT with immediate effect, has more than 25 years’ experience in IC design and commercialization, and a successful track record in new product introduction in the smartphone space.
Prior to joining CTT, he was SVP of chip design at Samsung Cambridge Solutions Centre, and VP of global chip design at Cambridge Silicon Radio (CSR). Bastani has held various technical and management roles in Motorola and Freescale Semiconductor from 1991 until 2007. He has worked in the UK, USA and France, holds more than 15 patents and has published in the field of wireless, RF and analogue integrated circuit design.
“I am delighted to welcome someone with Babak’s expertise and experience to CTT,” said Corbin Church, CEO and co-founder of CTT. “He joins at an important time in our development as we have grown our engineering team rapidly since our recent financing, and as we enjoy increased customer demand. Babak will play an important role in our drive towards full commercialization with our OEM partners.”
“I’m excited to be joining the exceptional team at CTT, whose unique 3D touch technology offers a multi-force touch experience for users of all screen sizes, yet is simpler and easier to adopt for manufacturers than existing solutions,” Bastani added.
CTT announced earlier this month that it had closed a Series A funding round.
