STMicroelectronics is paving the way to more intelligent smart devices with its new record-breaking STM32H7 series of microcontrollers, which embeds the highest SRAM memory (1Mbytes), Flash memory up to 2MB, and the richest connectivity peripheral set ever seen in the STM32 platform.
Central to this leap in capability is ST’s own highly advanced 40nm chip-fabrication process, combined with innovations in the product architecture, unleashing the performance of the core and enabling ultra-fast data transfers through the system while consuming less than 280uA/MHz in run mode and less than 7uA in stand-by.
The first device in the new series is the STM32H743, which features the ARM Cortex-M7 core running at 400MHz. This MCU is the highest-performing implementation of ARM’s highest-performing Cortex-M core currently in the market. The STM32H7 microcontrollers are perfect for industrial gateways, home automation, telecom equipment and smart consumer products. Integrated state-of-the-art security features, including cryptographic accelerators and provision for secure-key storage, provide connected objects with a high level of protection against online threats both during the manufacturing and in the field, and is ideal for Internet of Things (IoT) appliances.
The STM32H743 and further STM32H7 product lines will be in full production in Q2 2017.
