Scandic, the Nordic region’s largest hotel chain, will test digital check-in and mobile room keys at selected hotels in Stockholm using tailor-made solutions developed by ASSA ABLOY Hospitality.
Guests at Scandic have had the possibility to check out online since 2013. Now, those staying at selected Scandic hotels in the Swedish capital will also be able to check in quickly, choose their room, pay for their stay and use their smartphone as a key instead of a traditional keycard all in just a few clicks due to ASSA ABLOY Hospitality’s mobile access solution.
The solution, which is powered by ASSA ABLOY’s Seos technology, is the world’s first commercial ecosystem for digital keys on smartphones. It offers an interface that can be seamlessly integrated into a hotel’s loyalty app, allowing guests to check in and open their hotel room door using their smartphone.
“Our Nordic guests are used to digital solutions that provide a seamless service, which is why we are investing in expanding our customer offering further,” said Thomas Engelhart, chief commercial officer at Scandic Hotels Group. “By offering digital check-in and mobile room keys, we will be able to provide smart and simple services for our guests.”
Scandic plans to roll out online check-in at all of its hotels based in major cities in 2017.
