As the retail world meets in Dusseldorf, Germany, for the EuroCIS 2016 tradeshow (Feb. 23-25, 2016), Smartrac is showcasing products and solutions that provide the ultimate experience for retailers, brand owners and consumers. Key to many of these solutions will be the company’s Internet of Things platform, Smart Cosmos.
Smartrac will present new RFID transponders suited to retail applications; specifically the Web DF dual-frequency inlay, as well as RAIN RFID inlays based on Impinj’s Monza R6 chip family, such as the Accessory and Bling tags. Both Accessory and Bling have a small form factor, which opens up new fields of application. The compact dual-frequency Web DF inlay complies with the NFC and RAIN RFID technology standards, and can handle product authenticity verification and inventory management, as well as consumer loyalty.
Smartrac will also present Metrics, its all-new in-store analytics solution, which can deliver significant sales lifts and gross margin increases. Metrics empowers retailers with end-to-end supply-chain visibility and real-time analytics that provide comprehensive reports to optimize store and shelf availability of merchandise and increasing customer satisfaction.
Smartrac will also showcase Experiences, another Smart Cosmos-based solution that connects mobile consumers to the media and products in the real world. One eye-catcher on the booth is adidas’s “x HYPEBEAST 10th Anniversary UltraBOOST UNCAGED.” These sneakers come with built-in NFC tags that allow customers to access and enjoy exclusive content just by tapping their phones on the product. The demo specifically showcases product authentication and customer interaction.
“The retail industry is facing big challenges, and the innovative Smart Cosmos-based solutions that we and our market partners will showcase at EuroCIS offer valuable answers by providing the ultimate experience for retailers, brand owners and consumers,” said Torsten Strauch, SVP, Intelligent Things Business Division at Smartrac.
