Synaptics will preview its latest innovations at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas from Jan. 6-9, 2016. Synaptics will showcase several new solutions for human interface technology and demonstrate its reach beyond the mobile and PC markets, including new opportunities in automotive, wearables, gaming and other emerging industries.
“Over the past year we’ve continued to focus on growth and have worked to deliver the most advanced set of solutions that position Synaptics for ongoing leadership and success in new and existing markets,” said Rick Bergman, CEO of Synaptics. “We are excited about showcasing our latest innovations, addressing our traditional mobile and PC markets as well as new opportunities in automotive, wearables and other segments, at CES 2016.”
Synaptics will showcase several new concept prototypes that push the boundaries of human interface, including:
• Automotive Solutions – Bringing touch technology to the fast lane, Synaptics’ dedicated automotive demos incorporate the latest in human interface technology, including force sensing and touch inputs on the steering wheel and center console controls.
• Fingerprint Under Glass –Synaptics will demonstrate its Natural ID fingerprint authentication solution designed to operate through cover glass, enabling the option of button-free industrial designs for smartphones.
• Force Technology – Adding a whole new dimension to touch solutions, Synaptics’ latest ClearForce™ technology will demonstrate how force will be applied to mobile, wearables and automotive applications.
• Hover-enabled Touch – Enabling new device interaction modalities, Synaptics provides hover-enabled touch interaction for LEIA’s 3D holographic display (which allows you to see 3D without eye-ware).
• Touch Control for Large Area Applications – Expanding touch into large form factors, Guardian Industries demonstrates touch control of Guardian Reveal, which transitions from transparent to opaque providing privacy.
