Impinj, Inc. announce the opening of the Retail Experience Center (REC), a Seattle-based innovation center created to test and showcase item connectivity applications in real-world retail shopping scenarios. With more than 10,000 square feet of former retail space, the REC provides a venue for retail executives, media, and others to learn about and engage in a wide range of demonstrations and interactions, all designed to highlight the value of RFID-based item intelligence data in making powerful business decisions and improving shopper experiences.
Visitors to the Impinj REC can see how Item Intelligence enables omnichannel fulfillment, digitally enhanced shopping experiences, loss identification and behind the scenes data analytics about shopper activity. In addition, the REC showcases hands-on demonstrations featuring a wide range of retail items, showing always-on inventory monitoring, real-time location of items, and engaging customer experiences through interactive product displays and fitting rooms
“The REC is different than other RFID demo centers. It’s more conceptual and less literal about store operations, which really activates the imaginations of visitors,” said Larry Arnstein, vice president of business development at Impinj. “By leaning forward on digitally enhanced shopping experiences and data analytics, the REC engages executives who are planning how Item Intelligence fits into their long-term plans.”
The REC is equipped with Impinj xArray gateways, which provide hands-free, always-on monitoring of tagged items. The information collected by the xArray gateways delivers real-time visibility into product identity, availability and location within the store, creating numerous opportunities to deliver better service to customers.
