DELO has partnered with Bollhoff, a world leader in the manufacturing and distribution of fasteners and joining solutions, to develop ONSERT. This new fastening method of securely connecting elements combines rapid light-curing adhesive with durable, removable screw connections.
Ideal for use in the automotive, aviation and consumer industries to secure cable holders, clips, sensor holders, brake lines as well as insulation panels and claddings, this innovative and flexible bonding method can be used with composites, thin sheet metals and plastics.
Based on stud welding, ONSERT technology combines bonding and screwing with elements of fastening, such as threaded bolts with a transparent plastic base, and bonds it to fiber composite materials. The threaded rod of the ONSERT can be repeatedly attached and unattached with ease.
While conventional joining techniques, including heat curing or welding, can diminishing aesthetics, ONSERT eliminates visible impact on materials such as fiber-reinforced plastics, thin sheet metal, lacquered or polished surfaces and glass, for a cleaner, more appealing look.
ONSERT is a fast acting technology that can be cured within four seconds using a DELOLUX LED lamp. The flexible design and production of this quick joining method allows users to define the structural shape of various elements including rod length and base diameter as well as provides freedom during production as bonded bolts can be attached prior to final assembly of lacquered elements.
